A Journey That Became a Mission

EmpowHer Edge was inspired by Siona Das’s journey from young martial-arts student to nationally recognized athlete, instructor, official, and mentor.

Her achievements taught her that confidence grows when girls are given meaningful opportunities, consistent encouragement, and a community that believes in them.

After years of mentoring younger students, teaching, competing, and officiating, Siona wanted to make those opportunities available to girls who might not otherwise have access.

EmpowHer Edge was created to turn that experience into community action through self-defense education, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement.

Today, Siona serves as Lead Youth Mentor and Board Member, helping girls build the same confidence, discipline, and sense of possibility that shaped her own journey.

Leadership and Mentorship

Experience That Extends Beyond Competition

Siona’s work is not limited to the competition floor. Teaching, officiating, and mentoring have given her opportunities to support younger students and help them develop confidence alongside their martial-arts skills.

These experiences helped shape her belief that girls and young women benefit when they have access to positive role models, consistent encouragement, practical skills, and environments where they can grow.

Teaching

Siona uses her martial-arts experience to teach practical skills while encouraging discipline, focus, coordination, respect, and confidence.

Mentorship

Through mentorship, she supports younger students with encouragement, guidance, and positive example, helping them recognize their own abilities.

Officiating

Her experience as an AAU Level C Official gives her another opportunity to contribute to martial arts through responsibility, leadership, and knowledge of competition.

From Experience to Community Action

Why EmpowHer Edge Was Created

After years of mentoring younger students, teaching, competing, and officiating, Siona wanted to make those opportunities available to girls who might not otherwise have access.

EmpowHer Edge was created to turn that experience into community action. The organization brings together Taekwondo-based self-defense, safety awareness, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement.

The goal is not simply to teach a physical technique. It is to help participants develop the confidence, awareness, discipline, and voice they can carry into everyday life.

Every girl deserves the opportunity, training, and encouragement to recognize her own strength.

A Message Behind the Mission

Building Confidence That Lasts Beyond the Training Space

EmpowHer Edge is built around the belief that confidence grows when girls are given meaningful opportunities, consistent encouragement, practical skills, and a community that believes in them.
