EmpowHer Edge empowers girls and young women through self-defense education, mentorship, and leadership development. Using martial arts as a foundation, we help participants build confidence, discipline, safety awareness, and the courage to lead.
EmpowHer Edge creates accessible opportunities for girls and young women to develop the confidence and practical skills they need to advocate for themselves, protect themselves, and support others.
Our programs combine Taekwondo-based self-defense, mentorship, leadership development, and community engagement in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Our guiding belief is simple: every girl deserves the opportunity, training, and encouragement to recognize her own strength.
Our programs bring together practical self-defense, martial arts, mentorship, leadership development, and community support.
Interactive workshops teach practical, age-appropriate self-defense techniques, situational awareness, boundary-setting, and confident use of voice.
Participants strengthen communication, decision-making, resilience, and leadership through guided activities and mentorship.
Taekwondo-based instruction develops discipline, coordination, focus, physical confidence, and respect.
Girls learn in a supportive environment where they can connect with positive role models, encourage one another, and grow together.
Bringing confidence-building, safety education, martial arts, and mentorship into community spaces.
Siona led interactive empowerment sessions for women and girls through the Women’s Rights Information Center in Englewood. The sessions combined leadership development, confidence-building, strength and safety awareness, and practical Taekwondo-based self-defense techniques.
Through guided demonstrations and hands-on participation, attendees learned how to recognize potentially unsafe situations, respond with confidence, use their voices effectively, and practice accessible techniques for personal protection.
This initiative reflects EmpowHer Edge’s mission to help women and girls develop the confidence, awareness, and practical skills needed to feel stronger and safer in their everyday lives.
We help girls recognize their abilities, speak with confidence, and take an active role in their own growth.
Martial arts principles encourage focus, consistency, accountability, and respect.
Participants learn to lead in the training space, at school, in their communities, and in everyday life.
We work to reduce barriers so girls from underserved communities can benefit from high-quality instruction and mentorship.
We create an environment where girls support one another, celebrate progress, and form meaningful connections.
We encourage every participant to pursue personal growth with humility, purpose, and heart.
EmpowHer Edge was inspired by Siona Das’s journey from young martial-arts student to nationally recognized athlete, instructor, official, and mentor. Her achievements taught her that confidence grows when girls are given meaningful opportunities, consistent encouragement, and a community that believes in them.
After years of mentoring younger students, teaching, competing, and officiating, Siona wanted to make those opportunities available to girls who might not otherwise have access. EmpowHer Edge was created to turn that experience into community action.
Today, Siona serves as Lead Youth Mentor, helping girls build the same confidence, discipline, and sense of possibility that shaped her own journey.
Meet SionaOur workshops bring confidence-building, safety education, martial arts, and mentorship into community spaces where women and girls can learn, participate, and support one another.
